This is the very reason Chopta receives huge tourist footfall. And is also rated quite high in the list of popular places to visit in the Himalayas.
Of course beauty can be subjective, but in my opinion there are only handful such destinations in Himalayas which are popular and have relatively easy access.

Undulating Meadows Of Chopta Are The Real Deal
What if you could lay at one of endless meadows in Chopta gazing at the snowy-peaks, dreamy pines without having to trudge for hours ?
Well that’s Chopta in a nutshell for you. The undulating meadows of Chopta really enhances the vistas of Chopta valley many folds. In fact, one of the reasons why chopta is famous is due to its glorious meadows.
And the best part is you don’t have to hike. Else reaching clearings or meadows in Himalayas requires some level of hiking.
Rhododendron Bloom Is A Sight To Behold In Chopta
Rhododendron bloom is a sight to behold and one of the best reasons which makes chopta absolutely worth the visit. The only downside to is this is a fleeting phenomenon during spring time.
Trees of Rhododendron are dotted across Chopta valley which gives way to Pink and red flowers during spring time. The scenes are just otherworldly to be honest.
Witnessing Rhododendron bloom was the only cherish able moment I had during my time Chopta, thanks to hazy weather denying me views of lofty which made my trip a dull affair.
Tugnath Mahadev – The Worlds Highest Shiva Temple
Chopta valley is home to Third Kedar and the highest Shiva temple in the world, Tugnath Mahadev. And it is one of the reasons why chopta is famous.
The picturesque of lord Shiva can only be reached on foot. The total distance is around 4-5 km from Chopta market.

Hiking and Trekking Trails In And Around Are Delight To Embark On
Are you an hiking enthusiast, well Chopta might turn out to be the perfect destination. From easy hiking trails to multi-day treks, Chopta has it all.
While hike to Tugnath Mahadev & Chandrashila might be the most popular trail, but there are numerous other hikes and treks that will be delightful to embark on.
Some of the lesser-know trails include, Sari to Chopta hike via Deoriatal, Rohini bugyal, Syalmi Bugyal, Bisudi Tal. Of course, there are many more within 50 km radius of Chopta but these are the closest I feel.
Chandrashila – On The Of Easiest 4000 m Summit
Imagine yourself standing atop a mountain with surreal views of lofty snowy peaks, undulating mountains below without putting in much effort. Well that’s Chandrashila for you in a nutshell.
Perched at an altitude of around 4000 m, Chandrashila offers insane views of Himalayan peaks like,
Chandrashila is one of those rare 4000 m peaks that you can reach in a matter of 2-3 hours with a near 360 degree views of some of the highest peaks in India. Chandrashila is just at a distance of 6 km from Chopta.

Camping – One Of The Best Reasons To Visit Chopta
Chopta has plethora of rolling meadows and what better activity to do than camping amidst such picturesque setting. Meadows and camping really go hand in hand.
From self sufficient camping to luxury swiss tents, chopta can cater to everything.
And in case you don’t want to self camp, there are luxury campsites setup for a comfortable stay starting from Baniyakund which is just 5 km before main Chopta market and start point of Tugnath Mahadev.
